To The Beverley Anglo-French Society

Who we are

We are a group of people based in Beverley and the surrounding area whose aim is to promote the French language and culture and spend time with others who share our enthusiasm.  Within the Society members share information on positive experiences from their visits to France including recommendations for accommodation and restaurants.

What we do

We offer a programme of 10 monthly meetings from September to June.  A majority of events are illustrated talks delivered in French by French speakers, the speakers being organised through the Alliance Francaise to whom we are affiliated.   Our first meeting of the season is a quiz with wine and cheese.  Also included in the programme is a wine tasting, a film and the annual dinner. Check out our 2010/2011 programme.

Where we meet

We meet at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday of the month in a private room at The Rose and Crown, North Bar Without, Beverley.

How much is it to join?

The 2009/10 annual membership fee is £17.00; guests may attend individual meetings for which a fee of £3.00 is charged.  If any guest wishes to join the Society after attending an event they will be very welcome and the guest fee will be deducted from the membership fee.

Our new President, Barbara Redfern, was elected in January 2009.  Michele Robillard will continue as Treasurer, with Monica Birch and Alison Parkes sharing the role of Secretary.
